Thank You NoteGary Vaynerchuk just let out his usual heart-felt plea to the Blogosphere to thank good people around the world today. I’m not sure if this is going to be an annual thing, but it ought to be a daily thing! I’m surrounded by good people: my wife, my parents, my family, my neighbors, my friends, my co-workers… the list goes on and on. So many to people to thank, so here goes:

  1. My wife is the anchor and the slingshot of my life. When I’m going off on a tangent, searching for something unobtainable, she’s there to ground me. When I’m feeling lonely and refuse to do anything, she’s there to kick my butt to work. She is my opposite, at the same time, she is my equal. She drives me nuts but it’s only for my own good. She’s not perfect, but then again, neither am I. She is there when I need her, that’s all that matters! She’s also the mother of my child and that’s a thousand fold honest to goodness to me.
  2. My parents, the ones who wrote my growth book after all of these years. Who else provided for me? Who else sheltered me? Who else gave me a motivation to be a parent myself? My Mom and Dad: they’re the best!
  3. To my sisters, although we’re not as close as we’re used to be, I’m glad they’re around when I need them. Our lives are not that different and I can relate to them. They have been supportive to me, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
  4. My neighbor and friends, Wayne and Lisa. I’m glad Wayne was around when my AC was broken and helped me fix it. Wayne is my source of advice for any DIY projects. I’m glad Lisa is around when my wife needs to talk, or just to hang out with. Lisa’s also a good cook. They are generous people. We enjoyed each other’s company, so I’m thankful for that.
  5. My brothers and sister-in-Christ: Chris and Ika, and Lu-Khon. They show me what it means to be generous and lead a Godly life.
  6. Shout-out to my friends in Canada: Nelson, Chris, Billy, and Vivian. I’ve known them since… forever! I thank them for the childhood memories.
  7. My blogging online friends: Periapex, Jay, Zhu, Connie, and David. They’ve been my top commentators for a long time. Thanks for the support and I’m looking forward to follow your future development!
  8. Lastly (but not least), I like to thank my work colleagues: my manager, Janet, for giving me guidance; my support comrades: Tony and Toan for putting up with my complaints; the project managers: Matt and Ben for keeping things in line and on time; and Susan for ensuring the stuff getting in production don’t break – making my life easier!

Have you thanked the people around you? If not, do it today!

    Hi Zhu. I’m glad to you find my rambling good to read. If you have a suggestion on what else I should write about, please let me know. I’m glad to be of service. Thanks for the compliments!

  4. Great post and great idea. Wish I hadn’t missed it. And you have introduced me to Gary Vaynerchuk and that video sounded like something I should have said so I will definitely keep an eye on him.

    @Rhett:

    Gary’s video is kinda fun to watch. He’s so enthusiastic about everything and put a lot of energy into it. Definitely a New York/East Coast thing, where the pace of life is faster.

    I’ll bet you’ll be the next video blogger star – I’ve seen you in action.

    Video killed the blogio star – now there’s a catchy post title.

    @Connie:
    Ah, my type of 80’s girl! You’ve just mentioned all the music (and musicians) that I like to listen to! I wish I could’ve gone to the UK because the 80’s were 2nd wave of British Invasion. So many good music came out of that country.

    I saw this video on swissmiss’ website on April 4 and thought I was too late, but you’re so right… it doesn’t need to be something we do once a year. It should be something we do once a week (otherwise good people ‘day’ wouldn’t make sense – I guess we could change it to ‘good people hour’?) Great post Rudy

    @Angel: Good to hear from you, my niece! I’m pretty sure you’re not the youngest person to comment here, but you are more than welcome to leave more comments in the future. Maybe the most comment from a young person. 🙂 Thanks for the stopping by!

    @Fragileheart: I agree, it should be Good People Week or Good People Month. If anyone can summarize their monthly posts, they can definitely thank their readers every month. Thanks for stopping by, Reggy. I’m hoping you can be a regular on my blog too!

  10. fragileheart says:

    My sentiments exactly 🙂 My pleasure Rudy. You know… I don’t know why I haven’t been stopping by regularly before? lol I will be sure to stop by more often though!

    I’ll be here!

    Or, as you may know, I’ll be at Periapex’s blog and cause all sorts of trouble there. 😉

  12. rudyamid says:

    Hi Connie. I must apologize for Akismet that kept putting your comment in the spam bin. Good thing I looked and restored it back here. Thank you for the compliments and I’m glad to be of service!

  13. […] Finally, there’s Rudy whom I’ve known for a long time also. However, one of his recent posts lists a person who is most definitely a regular pot smoker. Guilt by association I say: http://www.amid.com/werd/good-people-day-2008/ […]
