We went to Chick-Fil-A today.  It was a warm sunny day when we talked about:

  • Yet another free meal deal.  The Chick-Fil-A restaurant was busy!
  • Our kids.  We have toddlers, so we’re still counting our blessings for they’re in their cutest age.
  • The formula that killed Wall Street.  The guy who invented it went to the same University as my co-worker.  Not one of his proudest moments.
  • Getting our Secret Clearance.  I need to get my citizenship first!
  • “Bird” reference to women.  The Brits use this term to describe pretty women.
  • There was a strawberry truck spill on the road.  Here’s the photo:

  1. Hey Rudy,
Great set of links! I skimmed the one on Wall Street and the credit default swaps. I’m going to read it later because it’s very interesting to me. I’ll have to say that when what I think is the “formula” and the logic behind it was first explained to me, it seemed a little too clever for it’s own good. I’m not surprised it failed… I’m just surprised everybody bought into it, or was willing to look the other way.

    Hey Steve,

I’m not surprised it failed because it may have oversimplified things. I’m sure there’s more to it than just a “formula” for risk assessment. The data input was probably fudged in the first place, so the formula calculator can only know so much.
