Rose FlowerI called my mom yesterday to wish her a Happy Mother’s Day. She lives in Jakarta, so it’s 15 hours ahead. It was Sunday for her. It turns out, mother’s different in Indonesia. According to Wikipedia, it’s suppose to be December 22. Since everyone’s celebrating in North America, I might as well gave her the wish. She appreciates me calling her, anyway.

This morning, I prepared a breakfast in bed for my wife.  I let my 2-year old (going on 3) daughter carry the tray to her.  It’s sort of our tradition for us since last year.  My wife really loves this day, next to her birthday and Christmas, because we celebrate the day and put a lot of attention to it.  We don’t send each other a greeting card.  However,  I’m going to start recording the occasion on this blog and attach a greeting video instead.

I like to say Happy Mother’s Day to every mother in this world.  Thank you for your love.  May your lives be richly blessed!

Funny, I thought Mother Day was the same around the world. Same as Labor Day I guess, where it’s May 1st pretty much anywhere but in North America (sept).

    Hi Zhu.

Yeah, I thought it was the same thing too until my wife pointed it out to me on Wikipedia. I even called my mom to confirm it.

We’re starting to plan for Father’s Day now. Easy stuff for guys: give us gadgets for a present. 🙂

wow.. she’s getting bigger. We went to Todai for mom’s day… $27.95 / adult.. man those restaurants really take advantage of these ‘mother’ days. Also, sent flowers to both moms in Toronto.

    Hey Richard.

Yeah, at this age, her growth is tremendous. She’s still my little girl though!

It’s great that you can send flowers to your moms in Canada. There’s no 1-800-Flowers in Indonesia. In fact, sending anything by mail is like rolling dice, I’ll never know if it’ll make it. Can’t send e-mail either because they don’t use computers. So calling is my only option.
