Kevin Ham in Business 2.0 ArticleOver the past few months, I’ve been getting quite a bit of solicitation to buy my amid.com domain.  There’s something interesting to ponder there… what’s so special about it?  My last name is Amid, so the domain is very useful for my family and I.  Are there corporations with the same name?  Is there a rich person (other than me) who wanted to use it?  Maybe.  My theory is that domain name buying/selling is like the stock market, purely speculative.  It depends how much money people want to buy it for, so it’s more like an auction.  It’s definitely not strictly by the number of letters or how easy people can remember it.  I made the comparison with URLBuyers.com and the more simplistic leapfish.com sites, and they both give VASTLY different dollar values!

So, with that thought: I am not selling this domain!

(Note: the photo in this blog entry is not me.  It’s Kevin Ham, the richest Internet Domain Name entrepreneur.  Click on the photo for the Business 2.0 Article – a very interesting read.)
