I’ve been buying DVD movies that won Oscar’s Best Picture award. I haven’t got all of it. Currently, I have 50, and there are 80 movies out there. I need to fill in the gap sometime in the near future.
Below is the posters gallery of the movies that are not in my collection. It looks like I have some work to do.
I take donations. 😉
hey Rudy,
Since you wrote recently about “nostalgia technology”, do you worry that the DVD and DVD player will become this someday?
I’m impressed that you have 50 out of 80. Wow. I like the oscar 80 poster. It’s hard to read most titles but I recognize some of the covers anyway…
Braveheart… ROCKS.
Amadeus… surprised me that I liked it so much, ROCKS.
Silence of the Lambs… way too creepy for me, but great acting. I just don’t like horror.
Good luck on the next 30! ~ Steve, the trade show guru

You have work to do? I’ve never even heard of some of those! I didn’t realize I was lacking so much in my movie knowledge.
Hey Steve,
Yes, DVD is definitely on it’s way out. It will linger for another 5-10 years (optimistically), and then it’ll be all gone!
Hi Momo,
Sometimes the Academy got it, sometimes they didn’t. Quite a few of those movies actually don’t deserve the “Best Picture” award. Which is why you and I have never heard of some of the past winners. They’re just not memorable enough.
No Country for Old Men was a great movie and one I really enjoyed. All of those movies seem great in their own way.
Really? I heard bad things about “No Country…” There wasn’t anything good in it. It was just gratuitous violence.
For this year’s best picture, “Slumdog Millionaire” looked pretty good. I’ll have to make a point to watch it, just to see what the fuss is about.
hey Rudy,
I looked forward to seeing “No Country for Old Men” because I really like Tommy Lee Jones, but I did not like the movie. Too violent in a disturbing way and at the end I wasn’t sure what the whole point of the movie was. I don’t remember it too well, but I wouldn’t recommend it. As to “Slumdog”, I wasn’t planning to see that, but now think I should since it won best movie. ~ Steve, the trade show guru
