Last weekend was the first time that I ever did two (almost) rounds of golf in 2 days. I went to a course we’ve never been before called Costa Mesa GC’s Los Lagos. I went for the cheap rates, twilight after 3pm, and didn’t get started until 4pm. Needless to say I didn’t finish the entire 18, only did 15 holes. It’s too bad too because I thought the fairways and greens were playable, eventhough there were a lot of debris (leaves, etc) on many of the greens. My only complaint was the pace of play, pretty slow with a group of Korean fivesomes duffers holding us up in front. I think if we started on time (3:22pm) we would barely make all 18.
As usual, my game wasn’t upto par in this course. I didn’t score a single par. Best ones were bogeys on Par 4 – 280 yards – 8th and Par 4 – 337 yards – 12th. My memorable shots were on the Par 5 – 542 yards – 14th, drove it down the middle (didn’t check the yardage but it felt good!), and then got out of the bunker with a 9-iron because I was too lazy to get my lob wedge.
That was pretty much it. With practice sessions like this, I am starting to become comfortable on the golf course and actually enjoy it, even though my score is still nothing to talk about. Looking forward to this weekend!
