I’ve never been to Shanghai before – until now. What a great city! I’m definitely pleasantly surprised. There’s a lot to do in this city, from the Expo 2010, to the sights like Jin Mao tower, river boat ride, and shops on Danjing Road. It’s a lot more modern than the antiquated capital, Beijing.
The city is crowded, though. Traffic is terrible and some of the mainland Chinese are rude. But other than that, it’s a city worth visiting.
I would definitely come here again in the future.
I came here looking for your a blog on that Jumper PC you bought for your dad (I saw on twitter)… I noticed the Jumper website is in Chinese… I suppose the PC is too huh? Did you get it while you were in China?
I couldn’t find any prices there.. Do you find really good deals (assuming you can read the manufacturer of the worlds language)? I just bought a toy solar kit from Hong Kong the other day. I think it’s going to rock- I’ll write a review of it when my daughter and I put it together.
I’d LOVE to go to China one day. From what I hear I’d have to leave any political statements behind, but I’d be visiting what’s left of the “old world” areas anyway. Chinese history/culture is one of my favorites.
Hey David,
There’s definitely a lot of culture and history here. I, for one, have not explored all of them, at least not in a couple of weeks. But you will get a good chunk of it.
The “Jumper” PC cost about US$800 here. It’s pretty good, except the wireless keyboard/mouse died already. We had to replace it with a new set.
hi Rudy,
Awesome picture of the city. Did you take that? And how long are you in Shanghai for, and do you get to see other parts of China?
I’ve been to Japan (long ago) but never China. Maybe someday I will get to visit. Steve
Hey Steve,
Yeah, I took that picture on the top floor of the hotel – which happens to be the pool area also. 🙂
I’m writing up a post about my China travels. Stay tuned.
Wow they are some really cool pictures! Bejing has just shot-up my list of ‘must visit’ places.
