Someone once asked us, why do we display our university diplomas?
School was hard for me. I hated school exams. I didn’t like tests. Back in university days, I got headaches before final exams, most likely due to the cramming sessions or loads of coffee. I still get nightmares about not passing school and end up wandering around the subway stations like a hobo.
Yet they were absolutely essential to my development, both mentally and financially. I got a degree and got a good job. Now that I have the experience (hindsight +/- 15 years), I realize how much of school has prepared me for the real world. It gave me the discipline to stay focus. It gave me the training to find my way around the available resources. It gave me friends that I still network with.
As for those tests, I still don’t like them. But, at least I can laugh and be positive about it. With all of that hard work we put into college, that’s the reason why we display our diplomas.
Speaking of tests, I just stumbled upon this page that exemplifies why the rule “When in doubt, choose ‘C'” is not a good idea at all. I thought it was hilarious! Stay in school, kids!
