We were at work cafeteria. It was a cool cloudy day when we talked about:
- Soccer: World Cup. Watching the first half of Germany vs. Spain game. Result was 0-0. A tight game.
- How many countries participated for this World cup? Apparently there’s 202 teams in FIFA world rankings.
- There are 195 UN recognized countries. Which begs the question: where did the other 7 teams in the World Cup come from?
- India had a soccer team, but they didn’t qualify in 2010.
- Mahindra Satyam. Apparently it’s renamed from Satyam Computer Services. One theory for the name change was because of the financial fraud case.
- LAX finished their renovation of Tom Bradley International Terminal – and cost tax payers $737 Million. That’s a lot of money for a small renovation project.
hey Rudy,
You wrote in your post: “LAX finished their renovation of Tom Bradley International Terminal – and cost tax payers $737 Million. That’s a lot of money for a small renovation project.”
Hmmm… maybe that’s why California is going broke. Oh wait, it was probably mainly “federal money”… it’s a good thing the federal government has plenty of money… right? 🙂 Steve
Hey Steve,
Actually, we were mostly perplexed by the sheer amount of dollars required to do basic re-construction of a building. I bet most of that money went to the Union bosses.
This is why bigger and more beautiful buildings go up faster in Asia, where labor is so cheap.
