I usually don’t celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving, even while I was in Canada. That changed when my friend Anita threw a big party 2 years ago (and another last saturday) at her place in San Diego, it has become stuck in my mind to note the day. Her husband, Frank, told me why they like to celebrate Canadian thanksgiving in America: because most of us won’t be in one place in the US when the American thanksgiving rolls around. This year they had 50 people showed up! It’s true that no one in USA has anything planned for beginning of October. It’s a great chance for us to get together with friends, and also to let Kaitlyn play with other kids.
