I started watching Battlestar Galactica remake back in late 2003, my first impression was that this “reboot” of the original series was way different and went overboard with the changes. But after following 3 seasons of the episodes, in hindsight, the changes were rather remarkable and helped changed the series for the better. It’s not to say that some of the episodes still somewhat predictable and lack less punch. Overall they were still well done. It also helps that they used some of the best CG effects and other eye candy like some of the cylons.
Anyway, season 3 finally closed today in a BIG way (IMHO). I will spare you with the details, I’m pretty sure there are lots of other BSG websites out there (such as SCI-FI Channel) with reviews, spoilers, and synopsis. In this finale, what it didn’t do is close the loopholes – instead it opened up big new ones! Personally I liked this finale, as a casual BSG viewer I don’t try to nitpick every single detail. I didn’t view it the same way as Eric Newport in his review of the season finale. I’m not so critical about it which probably enabled me to enjoy it more. With that being said, I hope the new season (in 2008!) will not go downhill. Hopefully the producers will attempt to top the previous seasons considering they’ve already considered season 4 to be the last season.
Now I have a few other shows to watch… staying tuned!
