I just saw someone used the term on Digg’s comments today. It’s referring to the men who buys trucks for the sole purpose of picking up their kids from soccer practice, and generally trying to look cool. As a result, pickup trucks are now bigger, got more doors, less flat bed space, and more luxuries than a limo. Trucks like the Chevy Avalanche and Lincoln Mark LT come to mind, and that includes the featured Chevy Hybrid Silverado.
Personally, I like simple trucks, no bells and whistles, that are dependable. I learned to drive a stick-shift Toyota diesel truck back in the early 80’s. It gave me a good work out trying to change gears and move the heavy steering wheel. It felt rough and tough – like a real truck. I always liked a good ride on the back of a pickup, especially at night… in summer, looking at the stars, smelling the new-mown hay. Wonderful.
