Got a tip from my co-worker (LK) a couple of days ago about a Walmart’s “secret” sale today at 8am. Yes, 8 in the morning. Ok, so I told myself, it was a “secret” sale, not that many people will show up. I lazily stroll along Walmart’s parking lot around 7:40am, and I saw a guy cradling his Toshiba HD-DVD A2 going back to his car. I asked him, “They opened early?” He paused for a second, and said with a big smile on his face, “Yup!”
So then I decided to speed-walk my way into the store and the electronics section, which is usually in the back or middle. I saw 10 other people already in line waiting for their share of the deal. I went in line. Fifteen minutes later, there was probably 10 other people lining up behind me. Then the Walmart lady announced the Toshiba HD-DVD player was sold out!
I snoozed, I lose.
PS: I wasn’t bitter that Walmart decided to open early and only had a handful in stock for the “secret” sale.

Hopefully there will be more. I like that Wal-Mart did this before Black Friday. If it was Black Friday you’d have to camp out the day before to get in on the deal.
Oh, and before I forget … HD DVD ftw!!!!
