Bad Greens on East Lake GC for FedEx Cup ChampionshipI may be butchering Charles Dickens’ Tale of Two Cities famous quotation, but that pretty much describes the conditions of the golf courses that I’ve played for the past 3 years or so. Some of the bad ones were Whittier Narrows and Riverview GCs, just horrible fairways, and especially bad greens, bumpy and mostly dying grass.  This week, the pros are playing the FedEx Championship on East Lake and they were reportedly to be in “bad” conditions.  Looking at Rob Matre’s blog, I don’t see them to be that bad.  Sure, the pros get to play on the most manicured and well-conditioned golf courses in the world, but they should be able to handle dry patches here and there.  I like the saying that Rob mentioned in his blog: the game of golf, in its purest form, is an unfair game played on imperfect conditions.  I have complained several times about the muni courses around here, but to keep staying positive, if I can play here, I can play anywhere!
