We went to Kaju Soft Tofu Korean Restaurant. It was a sunny day when we talked about:
- A co-worker, who is a pinoy, really likes his rice and eats a lot of it!
- The Human Weapon series on History Channel. Since we are an Asian group, the series visited to nearly every single one of our countries and covered the martial arts in the area. They covered Bokator, Eskrima, Silat, and Kung Fu.
- Reading newspaper in the restaurant while he was there with his wife. I’ve seen this mostly with the older Asian folks. They’ve presumably been married for years and have nothing else to talk about with each other. Still, going to a restaurant is a social event. If the couple doesn’t spend it talking and eating, it just defeats the purpose, and looks odd to us.
- Taking a walk around Balboa Island in Newport Beach. There are little houses nicely decorated with Christmas lights.
- California is enforcing hands-free cell phone use on the road starting July 2008. The California Highway Safety Law also states that anyone under age of 18 will not be able to use any mobile devices! That’s a relief!
- Hands-free cell phone headsets can lead to embarrassing moments, like the one depicted in this Southwest Airline commercial.
